With a menu that cruises the Indian subcontinent, this satellite of Darbar on East 46th St opens November 19th: 157 East 55th St.

For his new midtown Indian restaurant, Darbar Grill (157 East 55th St.) owner Manek Irani, who also owns Indian Taj in Jackson Heights, has snagged Chef Simon Gomes, an alum of Tamarind & Amma. Irani desribes Darbar Grill as contemporary Indian with a menu that has traditional dishes as well as some different ones. Those different ones include potato croquettes with goat cheese & a Maine crab cake flavored with curry leaves & ginger, along side more traditional, mostly Northern Indian cuisine.
